Bill Cole is a hometown hero from right up Interstate 74, having played four spirited years with the Fighting Illini after an all-state high school career in Peoria. He demanded fans’ attention when he ignited a wild 2009 comeback against Minnesota, in which he shot perfect from behind the arc. Upon graduating from Illinois, Bill played pro basketball in England.

Sam Maniscalco is a Chicago-raised, Champaign-made alumni of Illinois. An All-Missouri Valley Conference player at Bradley, Sam transferred to the orange and blue in 2011 and became a plucky fan favorite through hot shooting and timely steals. Illini faithful perhaps remember him best for his heat checks in the Cancun Challenge.
